FAISALABAD: Some 31 persons, including 18 police officials, were booked by the Rail Bazaar Police on Tuesday for torturing a woman.
The action was taken on a report of the vigilance team constituted by the Punjab Police chief to probe into the issue of torturing a woman by lady police constables in the presence of their male colleagues at the Civil Lines Police Station.
On the basis of the team’s report, the Rail Bazaar Police registered a case against 31 persons, including 21 nominated and 10 unknown accused, under the Sections 365, 506, 354, 155-C of Police Order 2002. The nominated accused include former director anti-corruption Nawazash Ali, Assistant Director

SHO Civil Lines Hafiz Irfan, SHO Women Police Station Zahida Parveen, Sub Inspector Nasr Ullah Niazi, SI Raja Asim, SI Jaafar Khan, SI Raja Tauheed, lady constables Bushra, Zahida, Gulnaz, SI Rana Asim, SI Mian Akram and journalists Anjum Husain Baloch, Nauman and Usman.
