FAISALABAD: Some 31 persons, including 18 police officials, were booked by the Rail Bazaar Police on Tuesday for torturing a woman.

The action was taken on a report of the vigilance team constituted by the Punjab Police chief to probe into the issue of torturing a woman by lady police constables in the presence of their male colleagues at the Civil Lines Police Station.

On the basis of the team’s report, the Rail Bazaar Police registered a case against 31 persons, including 21 nominated and 10 unknown accused, under the Sections 365, 506, 354, 155-C of Police Order 2002.
