KHAIRPUR, June 15: The Thari Mirwah police have booked 37 persons for ransacking the local press club and breaking its furniture. Police registered a case against the accused on the complaint of Mumtaz Shar, president of the Thari Mirwah press club, here on Wednesday night. Those nominated in the FIR are: Irshad Ali, Jalal, Gulab, Yar Mohammad, Anan, N aik Mohammad, Momin, Azam, Manzoor, Saeen Bux, Wali Mohammad, Mushtaq, Laloo, Shah Nawaz, Panjal and twenty two others.

The complainant stated in the FIR that reacting against news about the water management department reported in different newspapers, the accused had attacked the
press club and broken furniture. When contacted on June 15, the Thari Mirwah police told that none of the nominated persons had been arrested. Journalists of Khairpur took out a procession on June 15 against the attack on the press club. They were wearing black armbands and raising slogans against the attack.
