HAZRO: Dr Abdul Qadir Khan has appreciated the part played by media in maintaining a check and balance system in the society.

This, he said, in a visit to village Mullan Mansur on Sunday, to condole the family of Chairman Pakistan Club, Usman Khan over the death of his niece. He said, “Media is performing its duty with utter determination and devotion, and I am proud of it.”

Dr Qadir Khan stayed there for about three hours. Security was tighten up on the occasion and more than hundred police officials were deployed. Deputy Superintendent Police (DSP) of the tehsil barred the journalists from meeting the scientist, but Dr Qadir Khan himself met them and appreciated their services. Former State Minister for Environment Malik Amin Aslam and former Nazim Zulfiqar Khan were also present on the occasion. Amin Aslam invited Qadir Khan to his village Shamasabad, which he accepted.
