Academy TV Channel to be initiated soon

KARACHI: An Academy TV Channel would be initiated in a couple of month’s time which will air literary and academic programmes in Urdu as well as regional languages.

This was stated by the Chair- man of the Academy of Letters Pakistan, Fakhar Zaman.
He was speaking at the launching of the first ever “Boltey Kitabain”- the Urdu audio of the books, held here under the auspices of the Anjuman Tarraqi Urdu Pakistan, Karachi.

Fakliar Zaman appreciated the project and opined that by expanding this worthwhile service can be rendered to the literature as well as the language.

He suggested that they Bpltey Kitabain” should also be launched on the works of
Baba Buley Shah and Shah Abdul Latif, Bhitai. Fakhar Zaman assured that the Academy of Letters Pakistan would extend assistance in this very respect.

He said that the grant of the Anjuman Tarraqi Urdu would also be enhanced. Fakhar Zaman asked the Anjuman to initiate a talent hunt campaign from its platform. He also lauded the contributions that are being rendered by the Anjuman.

In his address, the president of the Anjuman, Mtab Ahmed Khan, maintained that in the present lay era the significance of “ Boltey Kitabain” has increased.

Honorary Deputy Secretary of the Anjuman, Hassan Zaheer, said that we would come up with “Boltey Kitabain” on classical literature as well.

Prof Sehr Ansari, Sarshar Siddiqui, Muhammad Ahmed Sabzwari and Tajdar Adil also spoke on the occasion.
