APC calls for arrest of accused in rape case

DADU: An All Parties Conference held in Johi town on Friday announced that a procession would be taken out against police failure to arrest five of the eight accused in gang rape case of a teenaged girl.

The victim was kidnapped by eight armed men from Bachal Leghari village in Johi taluka 23 days ago.

Awami Ittehad chairman Qurban Khokhar said that a procession would be taken out in Johi on Sunday in protest against police inaction. Five accused Laik Leghari, Ayoub, Ali Hassan, Mehboob, Allah Ditto had not been arrested yet, he said.

Local leaders Sindh Taraqqi Pasand Party Mehboob Babar demanded that DIG of Hyderabad personally supervise the raids to arrest the accused.SUP leader Ghulam Qadir Leghari alleged that police were supporting the accused, who were moving about freely in the town.

Sindh Abadgar Association president Ghulam Qadir Rind said that if the accused were not arrested they would continue protest against police.
