ISLAMABAD: The APP Employees Union (CBA) on Wednesday elected Bilal Thaheem un-opposed as its president and Mohammad Qamash secretary-general.
The chairman of the election committee, Mashkoor Hussain Naqvi, while announcing the results, said after withdrawal of nomination papers, all contestants from Murad Awan group were elected unopposed for the two-year term of 2010-12.
According to the election committee, Shehzad Ali Akbar was elected vice-president; Abid Mehmood, joint secretary; Mohammad Shafiq Raja and Ziaullah Khan press secretary and finance secretary, respectively.
Those elected to the executive council were Khalil Ahmed Raja, Ghazal Khubaib, Malik Saleem Akhtar, Ali Akbar, Kamran Murad, Mohammad Asif, Rizwan Sarwar and Mohammad Farid Abbasi.
Earlier, the union’s general council had appointed a four-member election committee on April 30, comprising Mashkoor Hussain Naqvi, Mohammad Aslam, Sajjad Ahmed Awan and Shakeel Maqbool Nasimi as members.
