MUZAFFARABAD- The AJK capital based representatives of English language newspapers, news agencies and foreign media have formed a separate body in the name of English Press Reporters Association (EPRA).

The correspondents of English language media in a meeting held at a local hotel here on March 29, 2003, took the decision to this effect.

The meeting gave approval to the name and objectives of the association, which include promotion of constructive and objective journalism and dissemination of impartial information to the public without any influence and prejudice.

Participants, who included Tariq Naqash, Khizar Hayat Abbasi, Zulfiqar Ali and Roshan Mughal, also decided to hold forums on diverse issues on regular basis so as to enhance the knowledge of readers about Kashmir across the country and abroad.

The meeting also decided to contact the government functionaries in order to apprise them of the requirements of English media as well as seek their co-operation for timely provision of information on the happenings in Azad Kashmir, particularly the Indian shelling related incidents.
