Balochistan gets Rs200m to provide 5,000 jobs

QUETTA: The federal government has released Rs200 million to Balochistan in response to a demand for Rs1 billion the provincial government had made for providing 5,000 jobs to youths under the Aghaz-i-Huqooq-i-Balochistan package.

“The federal finance ministry has released Rs200 million to Balochistan,” a senior official of the Balochistan finance department said.

Sources said the provincial government had sought Rs1 billion to provide 5,000 jobs that had been created in different government departments.

“We have completed homework for providing 5,000 jobs to Balochistan’s youths under the package,” officials said.

The Provincial Services and General Administration Department (S&GAD) has announced that job interviews for the graduate and post-graduate candidates will be held on May 22.

An official announcement said on Monday that written test and interviews of candidates would be held in the offices of the deputy commissioners of their respective districts.

The government received over 38,000 applications for the 5,000 jobs announced by the federal government in the package.
