BLA guns down two MI officials

QUETTA: The Balochistan Liberation Army (BLA) on Tuesday claimed responsibility for killing two high-ranking intelligence agency officials in a drive-by shooting in Khuzdar district on Monday. The banned Baloch separatist group said it had also killed policeman Mubarak Ali in Mustang district.

The two Military Intelligence (MI) officials were on their way home from their office when they were sprayed with bullets in a bazaar by attackers on a motorbike, Reuters reported.

The two slain intelligence agency personnel have been identified as Mohammad Yaqoob of Noshera Feroz and Abdul Hameed of Mianwali.

Later on Tuesday, Police arrested 25 suspects in connection with the killings, police official Qadir told APP on the telephone. The police picked up the suspects from various parts of the district, including from educational institutionsÂ’ hostels, APP reported.
