ISLAMABAD: In view of instructions issued by the Ministry of Interior, Pakistan Telecommunication Authority (PTA) on Wednesday ordered banning Mobile Number Portability (MNP) with immediate effect.
According to orders issued by the PTA, the regulator slapped ban on the MNP that was going to impact millions of subscribers of the cellular operators around the country. The order to this effect has been taken by the government in view of security concerns.
Pakistan Press Foundation (PPF) is an independent media documentation and training center, non-governmental organization committed to promoting and defending freedom of expression.
