Islamabad, June 22 2006: Chief Justice of Pakistan Justice Iftikhar Chaudhry has taken suo moto notice of The Nation correspondent Hayatullah Khan, killed in the North Waziristan a few days back. The Chief Justice ordered the NWFP Chief Secretary to file comments before June 30. The comments will be put up before the Chief Justice on July 1 in his chamber. His killing was followed by protests by journalists, which demanded an SC judge-level inquiry. Though the govt has appointed a PHC judge to probe the killing but the journalists asked CJ to take note of Hayatullah’s killing.
