QUETTA: The National Database and Registration Authority (Nadra), Balochistan, has initiated an inquiry into issuing Computerized National Identity Cards (CNICs) to foreigners and other irregularities in the authority.
The Director General Nadra, Balochistan, Colonel Khalid Alizai, confirmed this to media men on Tuesday and disclosed that an inquiry was in process to probe into the alleged issuance of CNICs to foreigners and other irregularities in the Authority.
He said that the Nadra carried out special audit of its 45 centres operating in different parts of the province, during which certain irregularities were found. They include the issuance of CNICs to some foreigners, he added. He said necessary action would be taken against those (officers and staff) responsible.
He said all out efforts were being made to remove the obstacles in the way of obtaining the CNICs, adding, his doors as well as of other Nadra officers were open for the people and they could approach them for any inconveniences in obtaining CNICs.
