LAHORE, June 22 2006: Pakistan Railways has announced on June 21 the concession in fare, which was promised to mediapersons by Federal Minister for Railways Sheikh Rashid Ahmad. According to the announcement journalists would be provided 80 per cent and their spouses 50 per cent concession on rail fare. New application forms for the requisite journalistsí concession cards have been sent to the offices of all divisional superintendents by the Railways Public Relations Department, said a press release issued here. Applications should include photocopies of the journalistís accredition and ID cards and two recent photographs, as well as a copy of the ID card and two photographs of the spouse. The journalist staff of leading print and electronic media as well as of news agencies will be eligible for the rail concession.
