HYDERABAD: A couple of Pathan Colony of the Matiari district staged a protest demonstration outside the Hyderabad press club on Monday and sought protection and security.

Haseena and her husband Akbar Babbar told newsmen that they married three years ago of their free will, but the family of Haseena did not accept the marriage and were harass-

ing them with the support of police.

They said that relatives of Haseena along with her mother are threatening her in-laws, alleging that the mother wants to sell Haseena to someone. They said the family members of Akbar were being pressurised to either leave the woman or be ready to face fake cases. Demanding protection, they said Haseena’s mother and her relatives should be held responsible if anything happened to them.
