PESHAWAR: A local court on Monday dismissed bail petition of two French journalists arrested on Friday last in the Cantonment area.
The court of judicial magistrate, Mr Asmatullah Wazir, observed that the two petitioners Francois Lino Candona of TF-1 TV and Christopher Phillipes Beneyre did not deserve to be set free on bail.
The two Frenchmen were charged under Section 14 of the Foreigners Act. According to the police they were arrested by the Special Branch Police on charges of filming in the Cantonment Area.
