Doctors, journalists meet for better ties

KARACHI: A meeting of PMA doctors with journalists was held at PMA House, Karachi the other day to discuss elections between media personnel and doctors.

The meeting was attended by the eminent journalists including Secretary KTJJ Hassan Abbas, President KPC Imtiaz Khan Faran, Secretary KPO AH Khanzada, President PAPJ Mujeeb-ur-Rehman, President Health Journalist Association Tufail Ahmed, Secretary Health Journalist Association Akhtar Shaheen Rind, senior journalist Zubaida Mustafa, Zahida flina, and Khursheed Tanveer.

General Secretary PMA Karachi Dr S Aámir Raza in- troduced the participants and gave little briefing on the subject. President PMA Karachi Dr M. Idrees Adhi described the unwarranted situation occurred in recent past between two educated sectors of the society. The meeting showed dismay over intolerance in the society and discussed the cause root at length.

It was highly felt that only by creating awareness and educating people by organizing seminars and workshops the arising situation could be avoided.

It was also decided that both communities should work within their respective domains. A body headed by Zubaida Mustafa was formed to formulate the Code of Conduct. The members include Dr AK’ Tank, Zahida. Hina, Mujeebur Rehman, Tufail Ahmed, Akhtar Shaheen Rind and Dr S. Amir Raza.
