ISLAMABAD: Eight educational institutions of the twin cities have joined hands for constituting an “Educational Broadcasters Forum” to support application and training in educational broadcasting.
A memorandum of understanding (MoU) was signed by the heads of these institutions at a ceremony attended largely by the educationists at the Allama Iqbal Open University (AIOU) on Tuesday.
The forum would support all the universities/institution’s broadcasting stations, provide education and promote research through information technology, cooperate in the exchange of programmes, and human resources and archival collections.
With the extended collaboration among these educational institutions, it is expected that the use of ‘educational technology’ for promotion of education would progress significantly. These institutes would exchange facilities and share their experiments in the field.
The institutions that have entered this understanding would facilitate each other by sharing their set of programmes. The programmes would be broadcasted from the respective stations of these institutions.
Moreover, the forum would collaborate with the ministries of education, information and broadcasting, health, science and technology for production of special feature programmes besides organising training for professionals and inductees.
Addressing the launching ceremony, AIOU Vice-Chancellor Dr Nazir Ahmed Sangi highlighted the need for extending collaboration toward the formation of knowledge in each segment of life through research work.
He thanked all the vice-chancellors, presidents and rectors who confirmed their consent for mutual cooperation, exchanging their views, facilities, and experiments.
International Islamic University President Dr Anwar Hussain Siddiqui said “Through this collaboration institutions would benefit from each others experiments which would save time and resources”.
“By saving time and resources so many new areas could be covered”, he added.
