Employees of Sindhi newspaper kidnapped, tortured

NAWABSHAH: Two employees of the computer section of a Sindhi daily were kidnapped and severely tortured by some armed men, who later left them outside the Taluka police station on Thursday.

Talking to news men at the Nawabshah Press Club, Amjad Rahoojo and Waqas Pathan stated that they had an altercation with Ayaz Zardari, a student of the Sindh University, on Thursday. Later, some 15 armed persons came to them in Faisal Colony, Hyderabad, in three vehicles and kidnapped them. The kidnappers took them to a village near Nawabshah.

They victims informed the news men that the armed persons, who were led by Ayaz Zardari, Zakir Zardari, Khadim, Sajid, Manthar and Fida Husain Zardari, first tortured them severely and later took them to the Taluka police station where a fabricated FIR had already been lodged by Ayaz Zardariís brother against them a few days back.

They also said that the report of their abduction had been lodged at Makki Shah Police Station, Hyderabad, by Amjad Rahojoís brother Ashfaq Rahojo. Later, the journalists staged a demonstration in front of the Nawabshah Press Club. They demanded action against the kidnappers.
