Ms Hashmi told the media that the programmes included a photograph exhibition, a show of paintings by Saleema Hashmi, a book launch and a fundraising concert by Tina Sani.

She said the photo exhibition would be held on Tuesday (today) at Alhamra Art Gallery, The Mall. “The exhibition is a journey of FaizÂ’s life through photographs,” she added.

She said her sister, Saleema Hashmi, selected these snaps out of thousands of Faiz’s photographs spanning over his life to put them on display, adding it would be a sort of traveling exhibition to be held in various cities on the centenary of the poet next year.

The exhibition of paintings by Saleema Hashmi titled “Heart Still” would also be on display at Alhamra Art Center on Tuesday, she said.

The launch of ‘Aaj Kay Naam’, the book comprising translations of Faiz’s 52 poems by Shoaib Hashmi, will be held on Feb 12th at Alhamra Art Center, The Mall. The book also contains images from works by Saleema Hashmi.
