FM-101 transmission to be extended to Chitral

PESHAWAR: Khyber Pakhtunkhwa Minister for Population Welfare, Saleem Khan has said that the transmission of FM-101, Radio Pakistan Peshawar will be extended up to Chitral adding that soon he will call on the federal minister for Information and Broadcasting Dr. Firdous Ashiq Awan, and make her a special request to approve the installation of a digital transformer in Chitral so that the people of Chitral could also have an access to the informative, educational and entertainment programmes of the channel.

He expressed these views while talking to the Station Director, Radio Pakistan Peshawar Laiq Zada Laiq in Peshawar the other day who called on him at his office ad discussed with him matters related to the extension of FM-101 Transmission to Chitral, preservation of the valuable archives of Chitrali programme “Khowar Majlis” and improvement the transmission quality of AM Channel programmes in Chitral.

Regarding the preservation of the archives of Chitrali programme “khowar Majlis”, Khan termed those archives, as a valuable and precious assets of Chitrali language and literature and assured that he would extend all possible support to preserve the archives.

Lauding the role of Radio Pakistan in the war against terrorism and the rehabilitation of flood victims, Khan said that Radio Pakistan has always stood by the nation in times of trail and tribulation. He stressed the authorities of Radio to air more and more programmes with the input of religious scholars in order to curb the menace of terrorism and extremism.
