KARACHI: The FM Radio is to be launched soonunder the e-policing project. This was stated by the Sindh Minister for Information Technology,Muhammad Raza Haroon.
He was presiding over a meeting of the e-policing project’ssteering committee here on Tuesday.
The Minister further stated that the police FM Radio would airinformative programmes to guide the people regarding traffic, Madadgar15, crime situation, arrest of accused, recovery of weapons as well asabout the police stations etc.
At the meeting he also reviewed the progress of the projectregarding the initiation of police FM Radio.
Raza Haroon was of the view that with the building of the FMRadio at the Central Police Office (CPO), will help in bettercoordination and programming.
He said that with the frequency and installation of tower, the FMRadio would be started soon and handed over its control to the policedepartment.
The Minister directed that all the components of the radio becompleted by June this year. He also reviewed in detail the pace of the EPR software whosepreparation is in final stage.
The meeting was also attended by the IG Jails, Ghulam Qadir,Secretary IT Sindh, Saleh Baloch, Director general IT Sindh, MuhammadYusuf, and other officials. The police officials appreciated the efforts made by the ITSindh Department.
