ISLAMABAD: A two-day Spring Festival featuring variety of programmes concluded at the Art and Craft Village here on Sunday.

Capital Development Authority (CDA) in collaboration with Indus Heritage Trust (IHT) organised the festival in connection with CDA’s Golden Jubilee Celebrations.

Highlights of the festival included art and craft exhibitions, shopping stalls, kite flying, food stalls, traditional swings, drum-beating competitions, live music, magic shows, pony ride, face painting and puppet show.

Large number of people along with their families turned up at the venue to spend a fun-filled Sunday evening away from the drudgery of modern life.

Talking to Daily Times, Member of Management Committee of Potohari Art and Craft Village and IHT President Perveen Malik said the event was organised with the objective to make Village self-sufficient by investing the money generated from the festival in the development of the Village. Malik said that IHT in collaboration with CDA would continue to fund the Village till it became self-sufficient.

Renowned local artists performed on the occasion while other activities included puppet and magic shows, folk dances and musical programmes, which were thoroughly enjoyed by kids as well as elders in a weather turned pleasant Sunday evening due to a light rain.
