Karachi: Prominent painter, poet and writer, Wasi Haider was paid glowing tributes as speakers highlighted his artistic and literary achievements at a function organised by the Library Committee of Karachi Press Club (KPC).
The event was presided over by poet Ahmed Omar Sharif while speakers included Ghulam Mohuddin, Asrar Hussain, Jameel Ahmed, and KPC Secretary A. H Khanzada. The speakers noted that despite his young age, Wasi had set a unique trend by introducing a series of different ideas in the field of art. His ‘Legends of Pakistani Art’ was cited as an example where he projected the old masters by highlighting their paintings and works. Sharif lauded Wasi’s efforts and said, “As a good write, he knits his piece well and as a good artiste, he takes colours and makes things lively. This is what distinguishes him.”
