ISLAMABAD: Ministry of Information and techonology is working on a series of projects to provide wireless boardband services (WBS) to over 100 major urban centres to lay the groundwork for provison of e-services to the public. Minister for Information Tchonology, Awais Ahmad Khan Legari on Thursday said that government is planing to use recorces from Universal Services Fund to take wireless broadband internet services to atleast 100 towns with upto 0.5 million popullation as a way to increase awarness about IT as a tool to improve socio-economic conditions.
He was addressing a launching ceremony of world World Ahead Programme in Pakistan by Intel Corporation with the objectives to accelerating access to un-compromised technology for all people in Pakistan.The launch of Intel World Ahead in Pakistan reflects the collaboration between Intel Pakistan Corporation, Wateen Telecom and Ministry of IT.
