KARACHI- H.A Hamied a former senior reporter of Dawn, died. He had suffered a stroke in 1999 and since then had been confined to his home. He was 62.
His funeral prayers would be held at Baitul Mukarram Mosque in Gulshan-e-Iqbal after Zuhr and he would be buried in Model Colony graveyard.
He had joined Dawn, in the early ‘60s after a long career as court and aviation reporter, he had retired from regular service in 1998 and was re-employed by the newspaper on contract.
On January 17, this year his elder son, Roshan, died in a car crash in United States. He is survived by the wife and the son, Aftab.
The executive council of Karachi Union of Journalists (KUJ) and the governing body of Karachi Press Club (KPC) have condoled the death of H. A Hamied.
