Idrees elected PFUJ-D chief

RAWALPINDI: Idrees Bakhtiar, senior editor monthly ‘Herald’, was elected president of Pakistan Federal Union of Journalists (Dastoor) and Riffat Qadri general secretary unopposed for 2011-12 here on Sunday.

According to a press release, three-day meeting of delegates of the PFUJ (Dastoor) concluded at the Rawalpindi Press Club. Azam Gondal, Imran Bashir, Zahir Anwer Jamali, Jamil Trakai, Afaq Hussain Shah were elected unopposed assistant general secretaries. Shakil Ahmad Turabi, Sofia Yazdani, Ahmad Draz, Riaz Ahmad Sager, Afsar Imran, Anwer Kamal, Abdul Haq Awan, G. N. Pervaiz, Hafiz Imran and Naseer Ahmad were elected unopposed members of Executive Body of the PFUJ (Dastoor).
