DADU: Senior journalists, media experts and professors teaching mass communication in their respective universities urged media professionals, working journalists and especially those performing their duties in the rural areas of Sindh to do investigative journalism which, according to them, was the soul of modern journalism.
The media persons and professionals had gathered at a one-day training workshop on investigative journalism here at a local hotel on Sunday. Terming the investigative and analytical reporting as the essence of modern journalism, both print and electronic, the participants of the workshop titled “Investigating Journalism in Rural Areas” said that without field work and investigative reporting, the objective of mass media would die.
The workshop was organised by the Centre for Rural Development Communication (CRDC), the University of Sindh, in collaboration with the Alumni Association Jamshoro at a local hotel here and was attended by prominent media teachers and senior journalists, including Suhail Ahmed Sanger, Harbakh Suresh Makhijani and Riaz Qadir Narejo.
