ISLAMABAD: PPP leader Senator Iqbal Haider on Thursday strongly condemned India for directing all its private cable operators to drop Pakistan Television from their list of channels.

“The ban is totally against the freedom of expression and principles,” he said while talking to APP. The Indian government’s decision is not only ridiculous but also acceptance of defeat at the hands of freedom fighters, he said.

In order to cover up the reality from its people, India has banned PTV transmission, Iqbal noted.

Such restrictions have further strengthened Pakistan’s stand on occupied Kashmir, he added.

If India found PTV’s programmes against their interests, they could have responded through their own electronic media, he observed.

He said India has clearly shown that it is scared of the freedom struggle launched by the Mujahideen for their legitimate right to self-determination. Their coward action has authenticated the reports on the success of Mujahideen against the Indian army, he said. APP
