ISLAMABAD: German Media Federation (GMF) would establish a School of Journalism in Islamabad, which will provide free education in journalism to the deserving students.
A German media delegation visited Pakistan National Council of the Arts (PNCA) to acquaint themselves with the cultural values of Pakistan.
Shams-ul-Haq head of DPV Division for Central and South Asia and Coordinator talking to APP on the occasion said that the German Media would establish school of Journalism in federal Capital to facilitate deserving students of Journalism.
The PNCA arranged a live performing art show exhibiting true essence of the art and traditions in Pakistan. The delegation also visited the visual arts displayed at the National Art Gallery, which shows every art form and the glimpses of Pakistani culture through paintings and sculptures.
A Sufi music documentary was screened on the occasion.
The delegation comprised Shams-ul-Haq, Wolfram Schwizer Editor-in-Chief of Programme and Anchornan TV Berlin, Olaf Kische ARD TV Channel, M. Tobias Materh and Daiel-dylan Bohmer Die Welt Newspapers lauded the role of PNCA for preserving and projecting the different arts of Pakistan under one roof.
Director General PNCA, Tauqeer Nasir said, “PNCA is making efforts to promote soft image of the country and show the world that love, brother- hood and peace is the real face of Pakistani culture” He said that PNCA has launched programmes for training youngsters in order to support the new generation of the country.
RS L30B PC-i PREPARED FOR SEWERAGE TREATMENT PLANT
Rawalpindi Environmental Improvement Project (RElP) has prepared a new PC-i worth Rs 1.30 billion for acquisition of land for Sewerage Treatment Plant in Cantt.
It may be recalled that RElP demanded Rs. 1.20 billion from the Cantt Board in the PC-i of 2008-09 but the project could not be completed as the Cantt Board did not provide funds and the funds of Asian Development Bank was also frozen.
The REIP has prepared the PC-i worth of Ha. 1.30 billion due to hike in prices of land and infrastructure and it is feared that the estimation cost would further be increased, if funds were not provided in time.
It is noted that 1000 Kanal land is needed for the construction of Treatment Plant.
