Journalist Aziz Lasi dies in road accident in Balochistan

On February 8, journalist Aziz Lasi, General Secretary of the Lasbela Press Club and Bureau Chief of Daily Intikhab, died in a three-vehicle collision on the Quetta–Karachi National Highway in Winder. Lasi was travelling to Hub when the accident occurred and was declared dead at the scene. His body was transported to a hospital and later released to his family for burial on Monday afternoon.

The journalist community in Balochistan noted Lasi’s death with deep regret. Shahid Rind, Adviser to the Chief Minister for Political and Media Affairs, extended condolences and acknowledged Lasi’s professional contribution, including his reporting on public issues. Various journalists’ organisations and press clubs also issued statements recognising his work in local media.

Rind additionally offered condolences to the families of others who died in the accident and wished a swift recovery for the child injured in the same incident.
