Karachi: Glowing tributes were paid to journalist and former President of the Karachi Press Club (KPC), late Najeeb Ahmed, at a condolence meeting organised on Friday by the Arts Council of Pakistan in collaboration with The News Employees Union, Jang Employees Union, and Javed Press Union.

The speakers highlighted the distinguished services rendered by Ahmed in the field of journalism and humanism as well. The speakers observed that Ahmed had fought tooth and nail against the dictators and faced fake cases. He was amongst the journalists who were detained during the regime of Gen (retd) Pervez Musharraf.

The speakers said that he was a very sympathetic and articulate human being who spent a pious life. Basheer Ahmed, elder brother of Ahmed, and three children also spoke on the occasion and urged the journalists to remember the services of Ahmed and to adopt his way of honesty in journalism.
