Journalist’s wife hurt, robbed

KARACHI, Aug 05 2006: Wife of a senior journalist was injured while trying to resist a robbery attempt at the gate of the Karachi Press Club on Aug 04. Mr Iqbal Jaffari and his wife Rehana Iqbal Jaffari were alighting from a cab at KPC gate on Aug 04 noon when two persons on a motorcycle intercepted them, and tried to snatch the purse of Mrs Jaffari. As she tried to resist, one of the robbers hit her in the head with his pistol butt and taking away the purse. The lady was taken to a nearby private hospital where she received stitches for the head injury.
