KARACHI: The Karachi Press Club (KPC) recently launched journalist Khurram Sohails collection of inter views in the form of ‘Baaton Ki Pyali Mein Thandi Chai’.
National Book Foundation Managing Director Mazharul Islam presided the event, while Dr Anwar Sajjad was the chief guest.
Ustad Aziz Mirza, Rahat Saeed, Naseem Anjum, Ahmed Umar Sharif arid KPC Literary Committee Secretary Zeb Azkar also spoke on the occasion.
Addressing the gathering, Islam said it was Sohail’s hobby to collect portfolios of outstanding personalities and this hobby of his caused him to start conducting interviews.
After reading these inter views, one could discover unfamiliar facts about celebrities, Islam added. Sajjad said the author had given birth to an innovative style of interviewing, while Anjum was of the view that reading ‘Baaton’ added to one’s knowledge.
Azkar said the commit- tee encouraged young journalists and the ceremony for launching Sohail’s book was part of that.
On the occasion, the author thanked his parents, teachers, publisher and those friends who helped him to turn from a student into a journalist and then an author.
