KARACHI: The office-bearers of the Karachi Union of Journalists and Pakistan Medical Association, Karachi chapter have formed a ‘core committee’ to overview and formulate a code of conduct for the medical and journalist communities.

The core committee headed by Zubaida Mustafa will also include Dr Aziz Khan Tank, Zahida Hina, Mujeeb-ur-Rehman, Tufail Abmed, Akhtar Shaheen Rind and Dr S Amir Raza.

The committee was constituted following extensive deliberations between KUJ President Khursheed Abbasi, Secretary Hassan Abbas, Karachi Press Club President Imtiaz Khan Farm, Secretary AFT Khanzada, Pakistan Association of Photo journalists President Mujeeb-ur-Rehman, senior journalists Zubaida Mustafa, Zahida Hina, Khursheed Tanveer and office-bearers of the PMA.

Professionals representing the two communities at a meeting held at the PMA House agreed that it was the sheer responsibility of both doctors and They also decided that instances of misunderstanding between doctors and journalists must be avoided.
