On May 11, Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif appreciated the responsible role played by media persons and social media users in countering Indian fake news during the recent period of heightened tensions between Pakistan and India.

The premier lauded their professional integrity and responsible reporting, stating that the precedent would serve as a “guiding path” in the future.

In a press briefing held a day after Pakistan and India reached a ceasefire agreement, Director General Inter-Services Public Relations (DG ISPR) Lt Gen Ahmed Sharif Chaudhry expressed gratitude to the youth of Pakistan, acknowledging their contributions as “information and cyber warriors.” He described them as the “frontline soldiers” and “information and cyber warriors of the country” and commended the media for standing as a “steel wall” against Indian media.
