LAKKI MARWAT: At least 15 armed militants belonging to Lakki Marwat district set up a road blockade in Serai Gambila village and took away audiocassettes from the vehicles plying that road.

Witnesses said the militants destroyed all the audiocassettes with a hammer that they were carrying and warned the drivers against listening to music. The militants stayed there for about two-and-a-half hours and checked every passing vehicle. The road blockade set up by them was near the Serai Gambila police station. They even checked a police vehicle and confiscated audiotapes found in the vehicle. The police failed to stop the heavily armed militants, known locally as Taliban. The militants were armed with AK-47 (Kalashnikov rifles), bombs and two swords. They advised the drivers not to play audiocassettes. They also warned them to make women passengers sit in the back seats rather than near them in front seats.
