The Ministry of Interior committed to providing the National Cyber Crime Investigation Agency (NCCIA) with comprehensive resources, state-of-the-art technology, and increased manpower to enhance its capabilities. The announcement was made by Interior Secretary Ahmad Raza Sarwar during his visit to the NCCIA headquarters in Islamabad on September 23.

During the visit, Secretary Sarwar received a detailed briefing from NCCIA Director General Syed Ali Nasir Rizvi on the agency’s performance, new strategies to combat the growing issue of cybercrime, and progress on the construction of a new modern headquarters.

The Interior Secretary praised the NCCIA’s recent operations against illegal call centres and online fraud networks and assured the agency of the ministry’s full support to enhance its operational capacity and workforce. Sarwar emphasised that cybercrime poses a significant challenge in the current era, highlighting the NCCIA’s role in protecting the public from cyber threats and ensuring that justice is delivered promptly and transparently.

Separately, Rizvi chaired a virtual meeting with SHOs from NCCIA circles to discuss preventive measures, investigation procedures, the timely handling of complaints, and the resolution of pending cases. He directed officers to ensure professional and transparent investigations, use modern technology, and hold regular open courts.
