The National Cyber Crime Investigation Agency (NCCIA) arrested four individuals in coordinated raids across Lahore, Faisalabad, and Multan for allegations of online harassment and blackmailing women through social media.
The NCCIA’s spokesperson detailed that the operations led to the capture of Haroon Qureshi in Lahore, Abdul Rehman and Muhammad Ayaz in Faisalabad, and Farhad Abbas in Multan. The suspects are currently under investigation, with legal proceedings initiated based on the digital evidence gathered, including mobile phones and other electronic devices now undergoing forensic analysis.
Haroon Qureshi is accused of targeting multiple women through social media, engaging in harassment and intimidation. Abdul Rehman and Muhammad Ayaz allegedly exploited a couple, using objectionable digital content to blackmail them for money. Meanwhile, Farhad Abbas’s arrest in Multan followed allegations that he shared private photographs and videos of a woman on social media to blackmail her.
