The National Cyber Crime Investigation Agency (NCCIA) in Islamabad held an awareness seminar to educate citizens about growing cyber threats, including online fraud, harassment, scams and illegal call centre operations.

On October 6, an NCCIA official stated that the seminar attracted both physical and online participation from communities, universities, educational institutions and the public. Participants were briefed on how suspicious call centres operate and the importance of identifying and reporting such activities.

The session also focused on online harassment and financial fraud; the NCCIA explained common tactics used by fraudsters and measures individuals can take to protect themselves against digital abuse and financial losses.

The agency stressed responsible use of internet platforms, informed decision-making and awareness of the legal consequences of illegal online activities, urging citizens to remain vigilant and report suspicious incidents.
