The National Cyber Crime Investigation Agency (NCCIA) Islamabad Circle registered a case against a man accused of using artificial intelligence (AI) tools and digital platforms to explore ways to kill his former girlfriend.
According to the first information report (FIR), the suspect allegedly used digital technologies to seek information on methods of committing murder. An NCCIA official said on October 13 that the case was registered following an inquiry into the alleged threats and possible misuse of digital technology. The allegations remain under investigation.
The agency raised concerns over the potential misuse of AI and digital platforms for threats and unlawful activities.
Separately, NCCIA Director General Syed Ali Nasir Rizvi met female stress counsellors to discuss psychological support for victims of cyber harassment, blackmail and online abuse.
The meeting focused on strengthening victim-centred counselling services, addressing the emotional and psychological impact of cybercrime, and supporting NCCIA staff handling sensitive cases.
