Police arrested journalist’s killer

KANDHKOT- Police has arrested the alleged killer of journalist Shahid Soomro, who was shot dead at his home on October 21, 2002.

Soomro was a correspondent for a Sindhi language daily ‘Kawish’. Editor Kawish, Naiz Panhwar, said that the police had registered a case against five people and arrested one man. The names of the accused included, Abdul Waheed Bijarani, Muhammad Ali Bijarani and Siddique Bajkani.

Panhwar said the journalist had been involved in a dispute with local people about some of his reports.
