Press Freedom Day observed

PAKPATTAN-Press Freedom Day was observed in Pakpattan. A meeting was held in this connection at the office of monthly Jehan-e-Tib.

This meeting was presided over by a senior journalist Muhammad Anwar Butt, correspondent Daily Nawa-i-Waqt. Talib Sultan Mirza Daily Insaf, Muhammad Saeed Chishti Daily The Nation, Hakeem Lutfullah monthly Jehan-e-Tib, Dr Shahid Murtaza Pakpattan Times, Maqbool Ahmed Daily lslam, Karachi, Nayyar Jamil weekly Notice and many others participated the meeting.

Journalists condemned the police excesses and baton charge on newsmen in Faisalabad and also condemned the registration of fake case against Syed Majid Ali Shah District Information Officer Pakpattan. Journalists demanded a probe into the matter. Journalists announced to form a body, which will work for the welfare of journalists.
