ISLAMABAD: Journalists on Thursday staged walk out from the press gallery of the National Assembly protesting against thrashing of their colleagues at the hands of doctors at Jinnah Hospital Lahore, the other day.
After the question hour, the journalists came out of the press gallery and demanded of the government to take serious action against the doctors who beat the working journalists in the hospital while covering the incident of a woman who died due to negligence of doctors.
Some ministers accompanied by State Minister for Information Samsam Bokhari reached the press lounge and assured the media persons of investigation into the issue. He further announced that he would co-ordinate with the Punjab government in this regard. Deputy speaker Faisal Karim Kundi, also condemned the incident and asked the government to probe the matter.
