HYDERABAD: A procession was taken out in Qasimabad here on Thursday to protest against harassment of women at public places, particularly in the area.
Hundreds of men, women and children participated. The procession was organised by the Hyderabad chapter of the Women Action Forum.
Ms Amar Sindhu said that some people were paying lip-service to the rights of women but taking no practical steps to protect them.
A resolution was adopted at the end of procession, condemned recent attempt to kidnap a poetess Ms Rehana Channar, and the area police for its failure to arrest the accused despite registration of an FIR.
