KARACHI: The profit after tax of Pakistan Telecommunication Company Limited (PTCL) has increased to Rs 2.785 billion in the quarter ended December 31, 2009 as compared to Rs 2.136 billion earned in the corresponding period in 2008.
The board of directors of the company in its meeting held on Wednesday declared that the company’s earning per share has increased to Rs 0.55 in the period under review against Re. 0.42 in the same period a year back.
On half year basis, the company’s profit increased to Rs 5.354 billion translating earning per share of Rs 1.05 against Rs 5.314 billion with per share earning of Rs 1.04 in the same period last year. According to the financial results, the company’s revenue increased to Rs 14.952 billion in the last quarter of 2009 against Rs 14.517 billion in the same quarter in 2008. The cost of services increased to Rs 9.291 billion against Rs 9.132 billion. The company’s profit before tax increased to Rs 4.250 billion in this quarter against Rs 3.367 billion in the same quarter a year back.
