PTV, Parliament attacks: ATC for maintaining arrest warrants for Imran, Qadri
An Anti-Terrorism Court (ATC) on Friday ordered to maintain Imran Khan and Tahir-ul-Qadri arrest warrants in PTV and Parliament attack case and adjourned the hearing till November 17. Judge ATC Justice Syed Kausar Abbas Zaidi heard the PTV and Parliament attack case and the court maintained arrest warrants of 70 accused including Imran Khan and Tahir-ul-Qadri. The court ordered the police to present them on November 17.
The court granted the exemption to six accused for appearance who came to the court and requested for exemption. It may be recalled that Secretariat police have registered case against PTI chairman Imran Khan, PAT chairman Dr Tahir-ul-Qadri and hundreds of other accused on the charges of attacking PTV and parliament house. On August 31, 2014, anti-government protestors from PTI and PAT clashed with police while marching towards the Parliament and Prime Minister House. The transmission of PTV News and PTV World was cut off for almost half an hour before the army troops cleared the building.
