SIALKOT, July 26: A gang-rape victim has threatened to commit self-immolation outside the President House in Islamabad in protest against the police failure to arrest the accused even after four months.
The victim told reporters here on Thursday that the Motra police were reluctant to arrest the influential accused. She alleged that kidnappers-cum-rapists threatened her and her family members with dire consequences if the case was pursued against them.
She said that she had sought justice from the police of Sialkot, Daska, Gujranwala, Lahore and Islamabad, but of no avail.
Accused Idrees and Abdul Ghaffar had abducted the daughter of a local farmer when she was returning to her house from the school in Kharoliyaan village, Motra. The outlaws took her to Narowal where they along with their two accomplices Masood and Sarfraz subjected her to rape. After three days, she managed to escape and reached her house.
Although the Motra police had registered a case, the accused are still at large.
The victim family alleged that investigating officer had freed the main accused, Masood, after taking bribe from him.
