GUJRANWALA, August 20 2006: Relative of a rape victim blocked G.T Road on Saturday (Aug 19) in protest against police failure to register a case against the accused on Saturday (Aug 19). A daughter of Nasir of Rehman Colony was raped on Friday (Aug 18) allegedly by Shahzad of Karachi. Who has been living here with his brother-in-law for the last one year?

But the police refused to register a case without taking bribe when the girl’s grandfather went to the police station to lodge an FIR. On Saturday (Aug 19), the relatives and the area people gathered in the locality and took out a protest procession against the police. They reached the DPO office and demanded early arrest of the accused. However, the police claim to have arrested the accused that confessed to having committed the crime.
