KASUR, July 5: Phoolnagar police have sent two rape accused on a two-day remand. The police registered a case against Rana Bilal alias Billa and Sadique on Wednesday, two days after they allegedly raped a disabled woman, and arrested them the same day.

According to details, Bilal and Sadique allegedly entered the makeshift house of a gravedigger at the Saharankay village graveyard on Monday, tied him and raped his 27-year-old deaf and dumb wife before him.

A source said the police registered a case two days after the rape only under pressure of an influential man who has a rivalry with Bilal and claimed the same day that the accused had been arrested with illegal weapons.

ROBBED: Five robbers disguised as passengers deprived the passengers of a van of cash and cell phones in Mustafabad police station precincts on Wednesday.

The robbers were travelling by a van from Lahore to Kasur. When the van reached near Rajba Canal, they pointed their pistols at more than a dozen passengers, snatched cash and cell phones from them and fled.
