Jamaat-e-Islami (JI) Central Secretary-General, Syed Munawwar Hasan, has said that incidents of blasphemy and anti-Islam activities took place in the West with recurrence as the America-led developed part of the world are afraid of the renaissance of Islam.

He was addressing on Saturday a large rally of women under the aegis of the women wing of the JI to protest re-publishing of blasphemous caricatures by a section of European press. An impressive number of women from various walks of life, age groups and children participated in the rally near Mazaar-e-Quaid on M A Jinnah Road in the afternoon despite the prevailing excruciating weather conditions.

The protesting women displayed banners and placards showing protest slogans and demanding severe diplomatic punishment for Holland and Denmark for showing complete disregard for the sentiments of billions of Muslims around the world.

The JI leader said that a large number of Islam-loving women of Karachi had taken to the streets in protest showing their complete opposition to the evil designs of the West and secular world to defame Islam, the Holy Quraan, and its pious personalities.

Munawwar Hasan said that unfortunately the rulers of the Muslim countries had virtually become stooges in the hands of imperialist powers to further their designs of exploitation, suppression, and subjugation.

He said the influential quarters and think tanks of America and the Western world had started planning on a firm footing to thwart the progression and mass popularity of the Islamic revivalist movements as the imperialist forces well know that in case these revolutionary movements become successful they had the potential to radically re-draw the map of the world.

JI leader, Muhammad Hussain Mahanti, said that the Muslims around the world would not tolerate the conspiracies and designs against the honour and sanctity of the Last Prophet Muhammad (PBUH) , Quraan, and other sacrosanct injunctions of Islam.
